I’m a lifelong resident of North Carolina and a compassionate, committed, community driven leader. I grew up as a sharecropper in Eastern North Carolina where hard word, integrity, and serving others was the norm. As a resident of North Orange, I have lived out these truths as a certified Real Estate Broker and owner of PPA Properties, operating multiple human services businesses providing behavioral health and non-ceritified home services for our most vulnerable residents across the state.

From serving as chair of the Northern Orange Black Voters Alliance and secretary of the Northern Orange NAACP to various committee chair roles in the Psi Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to working closely with the Orange County School Board, I’m no stranger to service.

To further my passion for helping others, I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Carolina Univeristy, a Master’s Degree of Public Administration from NCCU and a Master’s of Divinity from Shaw Univeristy, as well as a Doctorate in Biblical Studies from New Life Bible College and Seminary.

I honed my advocacy and active listening skills in completing several Clinical Pastoral Education units at Duke University Hospital as I journied with people at the most difficult times in their lives.

During the writing process to achieve board certification as a Chaplain, I felt the call to shift the ways in which I serve and responded to the request, joining leadership with the county Democratic Party. I have served as fourth vice chair, first vice chair, and acting chair of the Orange County Democratic Party, where I led the Voter Experience Team to ensure voters have the best possible experience at the polls. 

But the work is not done yet. As a member of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners, I’m running to seek a full term so that together, we can build a better tomorrow for Orange County.
